"Come Together Now" VideoMichael W. Smith introduced the music video for the song “Come Together Now” at a press conference to announce the nominees for the 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards today (watch below). Smith said he hopes that the song he wrote with David Mullen and Cindy Morgan will raise millions of dollars to aid victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
“I think Haiti has been one reason for a lot of us to come together and count our blessings and know that every day is a gift,” Smith said. “When something like this happens, I think it can rock you to your core, and you start to see the brevity of life and you start to think, ‘What the heck am I doing with my life?’ You start to be more proactive about reaching out to somebody who needs a hand — just little things. You don’t have to cross the Atlantic to be a missionary.”
The multi-artist, genre-crossing song released under the banner Music City Unites For Haiti, is now available for download. All proceeds go to benefit Samaritan's Purse and the American Red Cross.
