When Hurricane Michael struck the Florida Panhandle in October 2018 with 155 mph winds, many homes became uninhabitable due to wind and water damage and resulting mold.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Samaritan\u2019s Purse responded by sending teams of volunteers to patch roofs, haul out debris and damaged belongings, and remove trees toppled by the storm\u2014all in Jesus\u2019 Name. <\/p> \r\n\r\n

“When a team of Samaritan\u2019s Purse volunteers show up, they are igniters of hope,” said Pastor Luther Stanford of City Church at Northside, our base of operations in Panama City, Florida. “People go from despair to hope in a matter of a few hours.”<\/p>\r\n \r\n

So far, more than 167,000 volunteer hours have been invested in over 2,100 Hurricane Michael-damaged homes in Florida alone. Samaritan\u2019s Purse will continue to serve Panama City-area homeowners with rebuilding projects in the weeks to come.<\/p>\r\n \r\n

“The Red Cross, The Salvation Army, FEMA, and most all other organizations who came to help have gone home,” noted resident Martha Brown on Franklin Graham\u2019s Facebook page. “But Samaritan\u2019s Purse is still here. Still helping. So thank you [from] myself and everyone here in Panama City.”<\/p>\r\n \r\n
