the far south to the arid cattle-filled plains of Wau in the west; from the low-lying swamps of the Nile to villages wedged against rugged mountains along the Sahara&mdash;God is glorified. <\/p>\r\n                    \r\n                    <p>Not only do the churches built by Samaritan\u2019s Purse 20 years ago continue to give physical refuge to people fleeing conflict and war but serve as a spiritual home for those scarred by years of constant fear. Graham petitioned for religious freedom for the Sudanese people with al-Bashir at meetings in 2007 and 2009 as well.<\/p>\r\n                                <\/article>\r\n                            <\/li>\r\n\r\n                            <li id=\"tl-8\" class=\"timeline card\">\r\n                                <article>\r\n                                    <i>January 2005<\/i>\r\n                                    <h3>The Comprehensive Peace Agreement is signed&mdash;ending 22 years of war<\/h3>\r\n                                    <p>The Comprehensive Peace Agreement is signed between the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Army (SPLA) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), officially giving way to the process of creating an independent South Sudan. Samaritan\u2019s Purse opens an office in Juba, the new nation\u2019s capital, as our center of operations.<\/p>\r\n                                <\/article>\r\n                            <\/li>\r\n\r\n                            <li id=\"tl-15\" class=\"timeline card\">\r\n                                <article>\r\n                                    <i>December 2012<\/i>\r\n                                    <h3 class=\"h4\">The Samaritan\u2019s Purse Church Reconstruction Program (CRP) ends with the completion and opening of the last church building <\/h3>\r\n                                    <p>Yargot Episcopal Church in Aweil, South Sudan, becomes the 512<sup>th<\/sup> and final church reconstructed through the project. As fighting rages on today, Samaritan\u2019s Purse continues to provide tons of food to stave off severe hunger and combat malnutrition, and medical supplies to treat disease and sickness.
