Samaritan’s Purse has established a 68-bed Emergency Field Hospital in New York City’s Central Park to provide critical care for people sickened with the coronavirus. We are receiving patients from our partner, Mount Sinai Health System. Dozens of medical and relief specialists are on the ground serving now.

Licensed medical professionals are also needed to provide surge capacity to partner hospitals in New York City that are overwhelmed and understaffed.

We have been running a similar medical facility outside of Milan, Italy, since March 20. The 14-tent unit is set up adjacent to the Cremona Hospital in order to treat an overflow of coronavirus patients. Our DC-8 aircraft made two airlifts to Italy in order to deliver the hospital, 20 tons of supplies, and a large Disaster Assistance Response Team.

For more on the Samaritan’s Purse responses, see our COVID-19 landing page.

We began today receiving patients at the respiratory care unit.
