Hurricane Debby hit Florida and barreled up the East Coast two weeks ago, unleashing unprecedented rainfall and catastrophic flooding that eventually left some communities underwater. Samaritan’s Purse has responded in Debby’s wake in Savannah, Georgia, and Sarasota, Florida, to help homeowners in both cities recover from the devastating storm.

Edward Graham, COO for Samaritan’s Purse, recently visited our volunteers in Savannah and prayed with the hurting homeowners we are serving there. Graham and his family lived in the city for many years and it holds a special place in his heart. Hear more from Graham and our volunteers faithfully serving in Jesus’ Name in the video below.

Samaritan’s Purse volunteers are also busy in Sarasota helping homeowners mud-out inundated homes, remove soiled flooring and drywall, and clean strewn debris, all the while showing God’s love in these trying times.

Watch the video below to see more from our work in Sarasota.

Alongside chaplains from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the local church, our volunteers serve as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to these weary homeowners who face an uncertain future. We praise God that eight individuals have prayed to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior since we arrived in the Southeast, and we pray for more to come to know Christ as our work goes on.

Samaritan’s Purse continues to work in Brazoria County, Texas, and Spencer, Iowa, as well. Please prayerfully consider volunteering at any of our four locations across the Unites States.

Join us in praying for all the lives uprooted by these storms and our volunteers as they serve in Jesus’ Name.
