Samaritan’s Purse has established four community water filtration systems in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Fiona, meeting the urgent needs of thousands in Naranjito, Maunabo, Guanica, and Yauco. As much as 20 percent of the island remains without regular water access. [Check out the video at top.]

Our Disaster Assistance Response Team has also partnered with local churches to distribute jerry cans, tarps, and mud-out kits in hard-hit neighborhoods.

Samaritan’s Purse responded quickly in the wake of Fiona’s destruction, making two airlifts with more than 42 tons of relief materials. Our DC-8 handled the second airlift on Monday, Sept. 26.

We continue to work with church partners from our Hurricane Maria response, which began in September 2017 and stretched all the way into mid-2019.

Please pray for our DART and for partnering churches, that we can be a great witness for Jesus Christ as we meet practical needs. Pray for residents to receive the help they need and to be open to the Gospel.
