Samaritan's Purse is deploying to Oklahoma and Arkansas in the wake of devastating storms.
Violent storms rampaged through the central United States again this weekend, leaving a trail of destruction and taking the lives of 21 people. Oklahoma and Arkansas were among the hardest hit locations.
To assist the hurting, Samaritan’s Purse is deploying to areas around Claremore, Oklahoma, and Bentonville, Arkansas.
Our volunteers will tarp roofs, cut downed trees, and clean up damage and debris, all while bringing comfort to those who are in need. Acting as the hands and feet of Jesus, we will have opportunities to share the Gospel and offer peace in a time of crisis. Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains will also be on the ground.
Our host church in Arkansas is New Hope Assembly of God in Rogers. Volunteers begin work Tuesday morning. Our host church in Oklahoma is Claremore First Methodist Church (a Global Methodist Church). Volunteers begin work there Tuesday afternoon.
Samaritan’s Purse has been responding to numerous storms this spring, and we have two current deployments in Texas (Temple and Houston), one in Florida (Tallahassee), and one in Iowa (Greenfield), in addition to the latest two.
