Our teams are working with local churches to assist homeowners reeling after catastrophic flooding on the Hawaiian island’s North Shore area.
Samaritan’s Purse is responding to communities on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, after days of heavy rain resulted in severe flooding. The flooding has affected many neighborhoods, disrupting lives and forcing some to evacuate.
Churches and many Oahu residents have already started helping their neighbors with cleanup and providing other support during this difficult time. A team of Samaritan’s Purse disaster relief staff have been sent to work alongside local congregations to identify needs and assist families.
We are preparing to meet short-term needs by supplying building materials, appliances, and furnishings to help families get back on their feet in the wake of damaging floodwaters.
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains will join these efforts in the days ahead to provide spiritual comfort and emotional support from God’s Word as we help hurting communities in Jesus’ Name.
Please keep the affected families of Oahu’s North Shore in your prayers, and ask that God would give our team clear direction and open doors to share the Gospel as we serve these hurting people.
