These Desperate People Need Jesus
In the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, Samaritan’s Purse is ministering to people who are fleeing poverty, violence, and terror.
Jesus’ family once left their home to escape violence. Today millions are fleeing war and terror in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Samaritan’s Purse is there providing physical and spiritual relief.
For instance, many have fled violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo due to rebel activity and military unrest. Among them, a second grader named Destiny said, “I lost my mother, father, and sister. After that, the people I lived with tortured me. When I remember it, I feel very hurt.”
Today, Destiny is beginning to heal while staying at a refugee settlement in Uganda. She talks about her experiences and learns about forgiveness as she attends healing-from-trauma classes sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse.
Our work among refugees in various countries includes providing food, medical assistance, and shelter, as well as trauma counseling. Evangelism is central to our work, and we thank God for opening the hearts of many people to place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
