Alex was born on November 5, 1933, in Elfers, Florida, and departed on August 7, 2024, in Palm Bay, Florida

A generous man of great integrity and character who loved Jesus with all his heart, soul, and mind. Preceded in death and rejoicing with him in Heaven are his mother, Alma Sawyer, father, Walter Sawyer; and brothers, Henry, Richard, and Grady Sawyer.

Alex was a U.S. Air Force veteran who graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in electrical engineering. He was a die-hard Florida Gators fan. He worked for Harris Corporation in Palm Bay, Florida, for more than 40 years in the aerospace division as an electrical engineer. His love for his family was unsurpassed and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include, son, Kenneth Sawyer (Darlia); daughter, Terry Anderson; sister-in-law, Peggy Sawyer; granddaughters, Amanda Sawyer, Sadie Smith (Dustin), Savannah McCallister, and Shelbie Underwood (Nathan); grandsons, Alex Sawyer, James Abernathy, Nicolas Hill, Cody Hill (Bailey), and Jamie Sawyer; three great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters.
