Donald Ray Harris, Jr., (D. Ray), 61, of Dunnellon, passed away suddenly in his home on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ray Harris, Sr. and Bettye Battle Harris of Williston. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jeanne Cusamano Harris; sons, Donald Ray Harris, III (Miranda) of Lake Placid, and Blake Thomas Hurm (Maranda) of Lake Placid; daughters, MaryKate Harris Farrer (Phillip) of Wauchula, and Ashley Hurm VanHook (Zachary) of Frostproof; brother, Glenn Harris (Connie); sister, Lana Harris Harrison (Mike); grandchildren, Braelyn, Parker, Ryker, Brooks, Scout and Hance; nieces, Gabrielle Harris, Savannah Harrison, and Danielle Harrison; and nephews, J. D. Harris and Blake Harrison.

D-Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, snow skiing in Montana, watching FSU football, and playing golf. He is a 1985 graduate of Florida State University. After college D-Ray started a career in produce and later built his own business, Veg King International, Inc., where he was the president and CEO.

A celebration of his life will take place at the Williston Church of God on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Wes Smith and Pastor Dustin Woods. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service

D. Ray took great joy in buying presents for children and sharing his love for the Lord. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox ministry. This ministry sends the Gospel all over the world, sharing the news about Jesus Christ to children.

Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home in Williston, Florida.
