Ian Nathanael Dockens, 27, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019, surrounded by his family. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of Randy and Heidi Klein Dockens of Richboro, PA. In addition to his parents, Ian is survived by his two very loving sisters, Alyssa and Ainsley Dockens.
Ian was single and worked at Vertical Screen in Warminister, PA, for seven years. He was a young man of strong fortitude and faith. He was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis when he was a sophomore in high school and went through many years of dealing with Crohn's disease. In his early 20's he had to have a colectomy due to the potential for colon cancer. He had six full years of very good health after that procedure and was just recently diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma. Complications led to the decline in his health.
Ian loved to play games like Spyro, Legend of Zelda, Halo, and Titan Fall. All these games dealt with loyalty, duty, and sacrifice. This is how Ian was and lived. His health prevented him from being in the military, but he loved the loyalty, duty, and sacrifice of those in the military and civil service and how it was expressed for him, his family, and his country.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., and then to stay for a memorial service to celebrate his life and faith at the American Legion, 41 Linden Avenue, Newtown, PA 18940. His interment will be held privately at a later time by the family.
