On June 22, 1959, Jeanene Marie was born to Edwin and Marjorie Wine. She joined two sisters at their home in Chester, WV.
Though named Jeanene, and most called her Jean or Jeanie, to her dad she was Tinkerbell. As an infant she was baptized at the Presbyterian church her family attended and which Jean later joined as a believing member.
During her childhood she enjoyed dressing up, playing with the family kittens, and singing in the choir. Time with family and relatives on camping trips were also a highlight. These traits carried into adulthood.
Following her high school graduation, she attended West Liberty State College and earned a BS in Business Administration. Her career choice led her to Oregon where she first worked at US Bank, and later as an operations associate for 23 years at Ferguson Wellman Capital Management.
The move to the Portland area allowed her to be closer to her oldest sister and her family. Here she became known as “AJ” to her nephews.
Jean joined Cedar Mill Bible Church at this time, too. While at CMBC she served the Lord through the choir and as a Sunday school teacher. Jean's love for children also drew her to volunteer for many years with Operation Christmas Child.
Jean enjoyed time with family and friends, whether strolling on the beach, hosting a tea party, cheering on the Steelers, or crafting cards.
On March 22, 2022, Jean died unexpectedly at her home in Beaverton. She leaves behind sisters Marilyn Reshey and Barbara Ralston, nephews Joshua and Benjamin Reshey and Travis and Carson Ralston, and many dear friends and co-workers.
Her loss is soothed by the knowledge that Jean trusted the Lord for her salvation and is now face-to-face with Him who has always known her name. "Fear not, for I have redeemed you: I have called you by name, you are mine" (Isaiah 43:1).
