In Memory Of
Judy Lager - Grove City, OH

Judith L. Lager, 83, of Grove City, Ohio, passed into Jesus’ arms peacefully surrounded by her family on April 25, 2020. She was born to the late Donald and Florence (Young) Howe in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Jan. 29, 1937.

Judy graduated from Edina-Morningside High School and attended Hamline University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Judy and Denny were married on Oct. 25, 1957, and they loved the Lord their God with all their hearts and souls. It was evident to each person whose lives were touched by them. Judy and Denny were members of Radiant Life Church in Dublin, Ohio, where Judy served on the Women's Ministry Board and as a Sunday school coordinator. Judy was always a staunch supporter of and partner next to Denny. Together, they planted an Alliance church in Shoreview, Minnesota. Then in 1972, the family moved from Minneapolis to Columbus, Ohio, through a job transfer with Ashland Chemical Company.

Judy continued her partner-ministry by baking cupcakes weekly for TICO inmates and cooked a large meal each month for those sheltered by Faith Mission in Columbus for over 30 years. Judy also volunteered weekly at WCVO (The River) and Arlington Court Nursing Home in Columbus, Ohio, where she was honored with a Volunteer of the Year award in 2007. Judy and Denny could also be found at Three Creeks Metro Parks bike riding 5-10 miles on most weekday mornings.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, in 2014, and by her brother, Roger Howe. Judy is survived by her four children, Terri Slaughter, Joanne McMaken, Michael (Kim) Lager, and Connie (Gary) Will; 11 grandchildren, Emilee and Mitchell; Daniel (Mandy), Scott (Emily), Michael, Stephanie, and Tyler; Madison and Bentley; Avery and Garrett; three great-grandchildren, Adrian, Vivian, and Riley; and many other nieces and nephews including special niece and nephew, Linda Mossbarger and family (North Branch, Minnesota) and Tom Lager and family (Mount Sterling, Kentucky).

Special thanks to Kindred Hospice and the AMAZING Memory Care team of nurses and aides at Carriage Court in Grove City, who became her beloved and trusted family during the COVID-19 crisis.
