In Memory Of
Kaaren Lee Hammock Hitt - Corpus Christi, TX

Kaaren Hitt, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, went to her heavenly home on Dec. 8, 2020. Her legacy is a life that shines with the evidence of God's goodness, fulfilled promises, mercy, and love.

She surrendered her life to missions as a young girl in her church's Girls in Action ministry. Her heart overflowed with God's love for teaching children, leading her to become a teacher as a young woman. In 1962 she married William L. Hitt and was a loving, faithful wife throughout their lifetime of ministry together, including William's pastorship and their joint surrender to foreign missions in Thailand. She was a gifted musician and pianist who used her talent in music ministry leadership and worship in church, outreach ministries, and schools.

As a homeschool teacher, Christian school teacher, Administrator of Brighton Park Baptist School, and finally at Corpus Christi New Vision Academy, she committed her life to teaching children and young adults, pointing them always toward the cross.

Beginning in 1997, she led her students, teachers, and church members to participate in the Operation Christmas Child ministry, building thousands of boxes for children around the world. This 22-year-long ministry continued into her retirement. She built her last gift box in 2019.

We rejoice that our mother has entered the heavenly reward reserved for all who call upon the name of Jesus. She was a good and faithful servant, a pearl of great price, and a Godly example to all.
