Marianne Collins, 87, passed away on January 4, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born January 31, 1936, to Raymond and Grace (Evans) Montgomery in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Marianne married LaVernon Collins on November 21, 1954, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She worked at Central State University in the library, and then at Mike Fine Law Office as his Legal Secretary before she retired to travel with Daddy.

Marianne enjoyed volunteering, camping, cooking and gardening. She loved spending the holidays with family and was a devoted wife, parent, grandparent, and daughter. She was always helping others with meals or whatever their needs were. She loved to travel in their 5th wheel and even helped with the Baptist Builders and Disaster Relief.

Marianne was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Raymond Montgomery and Charles Montgomery; and daughter, Karen Yoder.

She is survived by her husband, LaVernon (Red); son, Michael Collins; daughter, LaDeena James; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Lynn Montgomery and many nieces and nephews. Marianne will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 27, 2024, from 2–4 p.m. at the Baptist Village Activity Room with interment in Beggs Cemetery.
