Marilyn Gail Granados was born May 12, 1935, in Culver Ciy, California, to Joseph Oliver Bobier and Deborah Elizabeth Damsig Bobier and she left this world to join her Savior on August 11, 2024.
She grew up in Culver City with her maternal grandmother, Mina Damsig, her siblings Alan, Joann and Gordon, and her parents, who owned a hardware store. She graduated from Culver City High School. She worked for Van De Kamps Bakery and Dr Albert, an Optometrist after high school.
She married Paul Charbonneau in October 1958. They moved to Beaverton, Oregon, where they owned a gas station near their home. They were married 18 years and had three daughters. In 1961 they moved back to California where they lived the balance of their marriage in Orange.
Divorced and a single mom in 1977, Marilyn went to work for School Pictures, Inc. as a driver. This was a difficult time for her. Leaving her girls, who were now 17, 14 and 5 years old, to go to work was heartbreaking for her, but Marilyn did what she had to do to take care if her family.
At SPI, she met Porfirio Granados, Jr, the love of her life. They married on July 29, 1978 at her church, First Baptist Church of Orange. They adored each other. Porf, aka Papa to her girls and their families, was her full time caregiver hero to her last breath. Through their marriage, Marilyn gained a stepson, Porfirio Granados, III and a stepdaughter, Rebecca Granados.
During their 45 year marriage, they served the Lord together at Richfield Community Church in Children's Sunday School and MOPS for many years. Her life long faith in Jesus Christ her Savior, serving God, loving her husband and family, nurturing her friendships and serving others is the legacy she leaves us with. Faithful and tireless. Well done!
