In Memory Of
Mercedes A. Graeber - Missouri City, TX

Mercedes Mary Abel Graeber, born July 24, 1924, in Cat Spring, Texas, died February 4, 2022, in Missouri City, Texas.

She graduated from Bellville High School in 1942, and moved to Houston with her sister, Wilma, to attend business school. Following business school, she worked for Humble Oil/Exxon. She worked in logistics to transport oil by train. She met and married Lonnie Graeber in 1947, while being a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Mercedes was a talented seamstress, great cook, and a wonderful mom. She tirelessly took care of her family and friends throughout her life, always loving and putting others before herself. She was active in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives. She would make herself available and insist on taking them to their afterschool activities, appointments, or whatever they had going on. Her love, patience, kindness, and generosity is her legacy.

Mom had an unwavering faith and trust in the Lord. She was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bellaire, Texas, for 68 years. Throughout her years at Faith Lutheran, she served as a Sunday school teacher, helped with Vacation Bible School, and participated as an altar guild member, as well as serving in the Stephens Ministry and New Horizons.

She was an avid sudoku fan and able to complete all puzzles without erasing into the final weeks of her life! She also loved the outdoors and sunshine, preferring to be outside whenever possible. Mom will be greatly missed and sweetly remembered by all who knew and loved her. I love you, Mom!
