On October 14, 2021, Nita Secrest, 90, passed away in her home in Levittown, Pennsylavania.

Born and raised in Crestview, Florida, Nita moved to Washington D.C., in 1951, to work with the F.B.I. as part of their expanding stenography pool. There, she met her future husband, Richard Paul Secrest, who swept her away on the dance floor and, ultimately, to Levittown where they raised their three children: David, Geri, and Bobbi.

Nita excelled at playing bridge and tennis, and loved to fish near their summer home in East Point, New Jersey. As advisor to the YWCA International Club, she befriended international students and professionals from all over the world.
