In Memory Of
Sharon Hester - Suwanee, GA

Sharon Hester, 76, passed away (in a hospice facility) in the presence of family, on September 7, 2022. She had been treated for metastatic breast cancer for the past six years, but all those years were generally “good.” She was born and lived virtually her entire life in the Atlanta area, in the Johns Creek vicinity for the past 28 years.

Sharon was a registered nurse. She worked most of her career, 40 years, at Northside Hospital. Starting in cardiac care then intensive care, she ended her career as director of Quality Improvement, overseeing certification requirements for Northside Atlanta (Sandy Springs), Forsyth, and Cherokee, as well as numerous small NSH facilities scattered over much of North Georgia.

She was a devoted Christian. Sharon and her husband were members of Perimeter Church, in Johns Creek, since 1998. She enjoyed RV’ing, other types of travel, hiking, photography, indoor and outdoor gardening, genealogy, reading, especially historical fiction.

Sharon is survived by her husband of only 53 years, John; sons, Sean and Matthew; her mom, Nell Alberson Thomas (94); grandchildren, Sean, Bella, Calhoun and Mace; sister, Marsha Winston; brother, Sandy Alberson.

A “Celebration of Life Service” will be held on October 7, 2022, at Perimeter Church, 9500 Medlock Bridge Road, Johns Creek, GA 30097.
