Samaritan’s Purse Responding in Wake of Hurricane Beryl
We continue to work across island nations in the southern Caribbean.
Hurricane Beryl rocked the southern Caribbean the first week of July as a Category 4 and 5 storm that left communities flattened and cut off from water and power.
Samaritan's Purse has transported more than 112 tons of relief and medical supplies on four DC-8 flights to the region. Also onboard these airlifts was an Emergency Field Hospital and more than 70 relief and medical personnel.
Our teams have distributed shelter tarps, jerry cans, solar lights, hygiene kits, cooking kits, and other vital relief to Carriacou, Petite Martinique, Union Island, Jamaica, St. Vincent, and other islands communities in between. Our Emergency Field Hospital is treating scores of patients a day. We've also provided thousands of gallons of treated drinking water to residents.
Now we are also at work in Brazoria County, Texas, where Beryl toppled massive trees onto homes and yards. We are helping residents clear away trees and debris and tarp damaged roofs. We do all this is the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, reminding hurting people of the hope and peace found only in Him.
Please continue to pray for the millions of lives uprooted by Hurricane Beryl. Pray for our teams on the ground as we work through the local church to provide relief in Jesus’ Name.
