Operation Heal Our Patriots, a project of Samaritan's Purse begun in 2012, serves married veterans and active-duty military personnel who were wounded after 9/11. Couples are flown to Alaska where they spend a week in Biblically-based marriage training and also participate in guided outdoor excursions that include fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. A team of staff chaplains follow up with couples long-term through our Family Care program. More than 1,300 couples have gone to Alaska so far with 170 more slated for this summer season.
