On Independence Day we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy in the United States and the ultimate and true freedom we all can experience through faith in Jesus Christ.
More than 50 wounded military veterans and their spouses have come to Alaska so far this year hoping for restoration for their marriages and their lives. These military couples are very real reminders that the freedoms we enjoy aren’t free, but come at a price that’s paid on battlefields all over the world. They bear visible and invisible wounds and their marriages and families have also paid a steep toll.
We praise God that this Fourth of July we get to celebrate the freedom we enjoy in America and, even more important, the true freedom that many military couples have experienced in Alaska through faith in Jesus Christ.
Now more than six weeks into the Operation Heal Our Patriots Summer Season at Samaritan Lodge Alaska, and with many more weeks to go, 33 participants have experienced saving faith in Jesus Christ, 41 individuals have been baptized in Lake Clark, and 34 military couples have renewed their marriage commitment to each other.
As we celebrate freedom today, please pray that many more military couples would experience freedom in Jesus Christ this summer. Happy Independence Day!
