After almost a month of service, Samaritan’s Purse teams conclude work in New York and Vermont.
In early July, historic rainfall in the Northeast prompted severe flooding that devastated homeowners. Samaritan’s Purse responded in the communities of Highland Falls, New York, and Barre, Vermont, and their surrounding areas to provide much-needed relief.
Over the past weeks, dedicated volunteers have worked to mud out homes as well as remove soaked drywall and waterlogged belongings.
Linda Macris, for one, is especially grateful for our help after water reached four feet above the floor of her Vermont home. Undeterred, Samaritan’s Purse volunteers tackled the job and Linda said that now her home is basically ready for a rebuild.
“I’m thankful that God provides,” Linda said. “It’s faith in action.”

Since our U.S. Disaster Relief response in the Northeast began, 600 volunteers served more than 10,000 hours to complete over 250 work orders. In the process, we praise God that 58 people accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
