OCC in Bosnia

January 18, 2011 •

Casey and Nessa are a missionary couple from California working with Operation Mobilization in Bosnia. They blogged about how shoe box gifts from Operation Christmas Child helped in their mission to show God’s love to children in a gypsy community.

Back on the 4th of January we had an event here in Sarajevo to distribute Operation Christmas Child packages from Samaritan’s Purse. It was a great opportunity to bless the children in the community that we work in.

One of the local churches in Sarajevo helped us by providing a great puppet show. We had two times that evening that we distributed the gifts along with packages that we made especially for their parents as well!

Thanks again to everyone who works with Samaritan’s Purse and for those who donated the packages. We had 350 packages to give out that night and many more were taken to the Roma community by some of our colleagues as well.

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men. That they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
