This National Volunteer Month, we say thank you to our volunteers who faithfully serve across the country in Jesus’ Name.
At Samaritan’s Purse, we share the hope of the Gospel as we rush to the aid of those caught in the ditches of life. When a hurricane blows down trees, a wildfire consumes a town, a flood rushes in, or a tornado rips apart a community, Samaritan’s Purse is there to provide relief in Jesus’ Name.
All of this, however, is impossible without the committed support of our volunteers and church partners. Whether you tarped a roof, put a chainsaw to a fallen tree, or comforted a homeowner during crisis, we thank you for your efforts under some of the harshest conditions.
During National Volunteer Month, Samaritan’s Purse COO Edward Graham extends a special thank-you via video (above) to all our North American Ministries volunteers. We realize that this work cannot continue without your sacrifice.
Samaritan’s Purse volunteers have responded to numerous disasters in the United States over the past year. Our Disaster Relief Units (DRUs)—filled with supplies and equipment—have deployed to 25 disaster locations since early 2023. We have helped nearly 6,000 homeowners recover from storms, and we praise God that over 650 people have decided to follow Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
In Mississippi and Arkansas, we were on the ground within days after deadly tornadoes; in Florida, we responded to Hurricane Idalia; and when wildfires ravaged Maui, we were there to comfort those in need. More recently, you’ve joined with us as we have come alongside hurting homeowners in Ohio and Indiana.
Thank you to all our volunteers who have bravely answered the call of God to help in Jesus’ Name. We praise God for all that He has done and all that He will do.
