Samaritan’s Purse works with the local church in opening a new office in Cambodia
In January, Samaritan’s Purse opened a new office in northwestern Cambodia. The office will focus on water, sanitation, and hygiene programs and is about 30 miles from the provincial capital. Most of the local pastors were invited to attend a celebration for the opening of the new office. We worshipped together, and local Pastor Horm Soy gave a message to encourage our work in the field.
After this devotion, the local pastors stood up to pray for the Samaritan’s Purse office. They prayed that it would be a place of joy, peace, safety, and blessing for the local churches and communities. They also prayed that local people would hear the Gospel through our projects. Pastor Mouy Ang, an elderly pastor from the community, said he was overjoyed that Samaritan’s Purse is involving churches from the beginning.
The water, sanitation, and hygiene program team presented the projects that it plans to implement in 2016 in the district, which helped the local churches understand how to work together to achieve these goals. During the event, I saw that Samaritan’s Purse and the local church are connected. I hope that we’re able to work together for the Kingdom of God in this district.
