Faith and governmental leaders spearheaded this year’s (virtual) pro-life event on Friday.

Cissie Graham Lynch, daughter of Samaritan’s Purse President Franklin Graham, was among those leading the 48th annual March for Life, which this year was primarily a virtual event beginning at noon (ET) on Jan. 29.
March for Life organizers asked participants to stay home and participate via livestream due to concerns regarding the global pandemic and security issues at the nation’s capital.
Among others who spoke during the event were Hawaii State Senator Mike Gabbard, father of former U.S. representative Tulsi Gabbard, as well as Representative Kat Cammack of Florida whose life was nearly lost to abortion. Jim Daly, president of Focus on the Family, offered comments along with J.D. Greear, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, and athlete Tim Tebow.
With speakers from both sides of the political aisle and different denominations, March for Life 2021 centered around the theme “Together Strong: Life Unites!”
’Life Is Sacred’
Today, one out of every five babies is aborted with tens of thousands of lives being lost each year. Since the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision legalized abortion in 1973, well more than 60 million unborn lives have been wrongfully terminated.
“We’re talking about the greatest injustice of our lifetime. Life isn’t even given a chance,” Cissie said. “We need to speak up. Abortion shouldn’t just be illegal; it should be unthinkable.”

Franklin Graham, who joined Cissie last year in D.C. for the 2020 March, has said, “The Supreme Court says abortion is legal, but the Word of God says that life is sacred and it is a sin against Almighty God.”
The March for Life has taken place annually in Washington ever since the first anniversary of Roe v. Wade on January 22, 1974.
This year’s demonstration began with a pre-event concert by Matthew West.
