Samaritan’s Purse COO Edward Graham was joined by Donald Trump Jr. and U.S. Senator Ted Budd on Monday, Oct. 14, as they witnessed the devastation Hurricane Helene brought to North Carolina. They were flown by helicopter to Yancey County, which is included among the areas receiving emergency relief from Samaritan’s Purse.

We continue to bring urgently needed supplies and the hope of the Gospel to the people of western North Carolina and far eastern Tennessee. In response to Helene’s destruction, Samaritan’s Purse has coordinated the largest civilian airlift operation in U.S. history, making hundreds of helicopter and fixed-wing flights to deliver aid to hurting people. Deliveries have included fuel, generators, water, food, heaters, blankets, solar lights, Starlink systems, and more.

We also have three disaster relief bases from which we are ministering to homeowners in seven counties in two states: Buncombe, Yancey, Mitchell, Watauga, Avery, and Ashe in North Carolina and Johnson in Tennessee. Our volunteer teams are tarping roofs, mudding out homes, and cutting downed trees.

In addition, we are responding from five other relief bases (three in Florida, one in Louisiana, and one in Georgia) to Hurricanes Francine, Helene, and Milton.

Please pray for the recovery of all these areas and for our teams out working in difficult conditions.
