Mohamed and Nehal said their street near Boone turned into a river when Hurricane Helene dumped rain on the region last September. Their apartment flooded, along with all of their belongings. Among the Egyptian family’s losses were the trusty vehicles they relied on for work.
“They were flooded to the roof,” Mohamed said. “There was nothing we could do.”
As Samaritan’s Purse began to work with the couple to help clean out their home, our teams also learned of their need for a vehicle to replace the one they lost.
“I’m so blessed today. I feel like I’m still dreaming, but it’s a great dream.”
Last week, the couple met with our team at Alliance Bible Fellowship where we were able to bless them with the gift and necessity of a reliable automobile provided through a partnership with Hendrick Automotive Group in Charlotte. The company has been partnering with us since the storm to help provide for mountain communities experiencing so much loss.
“I’m so blessed today,” Mohamed said. “I feel like I’m still dreaming, but it’s a great dream.”
This is one of many families we’ve assisted across the region as we continue to help with recovery and rebuild efforts in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. Please continue to pray for this and so many other families still hurting and struggling to get back on their feet since the catastrophic storm last fall.
