Thousands of homes were damaged by wind or flooded when Hurricane Isaac swept through Louisiana in late August. Samaritan’s Purse sent Disaster Relief Units to LaPlace and Lacombe, Louisiana, and mobilized volunteers to mud-out flooded homes, put tarps on damaged roofs, and remove tree limbs and debris from yards.
Samaritan’s Purse team members joined hands in prayer before Disaster Relief Unit #3 left North Carolina for the 800-mile journey to LaPlace, Louisiana, to help victims of Hurricane Isaac.
Team leader Erinn Ford wrote a note in the Bible that she and the other volunteers signed and presented to a homeowner after they completed repairs.
