God is using Operation Heal Our Patriots to strengthen the marriages of military couples deeply affected by the trauma of combat injuries
Operation Heal Our Patriots provides wounded veterans and their spouses a week of Biblically based marriage enrichment in Alaska. Our aftercare team then provides ongoing support and care for years to come.
Started in 2012, this ministry of Samaritan’s Purse has welcomed 526 couples into the program. We give thanks to the Lord that more than 200 individuals have made commitments to Jesus Christ, over 230 individuals have been baptized, and 227 couples have publicly rededicated their marriages to God.
Army Master Sergeant Josh Grzywa, injured in Iraq, and his wife Neysa (featured in the video above) received Christ and were baptized last September while in Alaska. Josh said, “We’re growing stronger as a couple, and I am forever grateful to Samaritan’s Purse for bringing us here. It’s like nothing I have ever seen or experienced.”Pray also for the coming summer season (16 weeks) of marriage enrichment in Alaska, beginning May 29. Ask for God to bring healing into the lives of many couples.
Finally, please pray for the Prices. Retired Army Staff Sergeant Brandon Price, injured in Afghanistan and Iraq, and his wife Ashley (featured in the video above) were affected by recent flooding in Texas. Their mobile home was flooded, and Samaritan’s Purse is committed to helping them as part of our larger response in Orange County, Texas. During their Operation Heal Our Patriots week in Alaska last year, Brandon received Christ and was baptized; Ashley was already a believer.
UPDATE: Over Easter weekend, our staff and volunteers, as well as Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains, were able to assist the Prices in their recovery. It was an honor to serve them, said Todd Taylor, our program manager for the Orange County, Texas, response. You can read more aquí.
