Charles Leland Miller, MD - Whitinsville, MA

November 29, 1929 ~ February 4, 2021 (age 91)

Charles L. Miller, M.D., died on Thursday, Feb. 4, at home with family by his side. He was 91 years old.

He was predeceased by his wife Lois (Iannotta) Miller in 1999 and his son Jeffrey Miller in 2005. Dr. Miller leaves behind two sons, Stephen C. Miller and his wife Diane, and Randolph J. Miller and his wife Michelle; three daughters, Deborah L. Clasby and her husband Michael, Cynthia S. Mannis and her husband Tom, and Pamela J. Almand and her husband Jim; 17 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Dr. Miller was born in Elmira, New York, on Nov. 21, 1929, a son of Earle L. and Winifred (Boshart) Miller. He graduated from Northfield Mount Herman School, Hamilton College, and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. After medical school, he married Lois Iannotta and completed his residency in Philadelphia. After two years of medical service with the Army in Texas and Missouri, Chuck and Lois settled with their family in Wilmington, Delaware, where he established a private pediatric practice, specializing in allergies.

Dr. Chuck began volunteering with Samaritan's Purse after his wife’s death. All told, he completed more than 45 medical mission trips worldwide. In 2005, he received the “In the Footsteps of the Great Physician” award from World Medical Mission for being the medical volunteer of the year. He also self-published a book entitled, "Let’s Go On a Mission Trip! Travels With Dr. Chuck." Chuck moved to Whitinsville to live with his family in 2017.
