In Memory Of
Charles R. Gielow Sr. - Senoia, GA

Charles Richard Gielow, Sr., born on Dec. 22, 1928, in Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2020.

Mr. Gielow was a graduate of Russel High School, Atlanta, and went on to Georgia State University to earn a bachelor’s degree in transportation. He was employed with Roadway Express Trucking Company Inc. for 30 years and retired from his position as Vice President of Operations and Safety at age 55, to his farm in Senoia, GA. He spent his retirement there happily making beautiful furniture and farming. With the patience of a saint, he taught us all to stand proudly, walk with dignity, and forgive quickly.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Frances Free Gielow; children, Charles Gielow Jr. (Rhonda), Beth Burke (David), Harold Gielow Sr. (Liz), and Laura Greene (Wendell); grandchildren, Charles Gielow III, Hunter Holland, Jonathon Gielow (Christina), Catie Duncan-Sutton (Joseph), Charlie Gielow (Kristi), Beau Greene (Jessica), William Gielow, and Cody Gielow; and great grandchildren, Avali, Cayenne, Keva, Jillian, Tess, River, and Hannah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Lowell Gielow and Dorothy Cates Gielow; siblings, Katherine Robison and John Gielow; and grandson, Harold Gielow Jr.

“God broke the mold when He formed this soul. The smartest man, bar none, we have ever met. Unflappable, optimistic, just, forgiving, moral, and loving. A good man!”
