
Dannie Sue Price Junkins, age 95, died peacefully surrounded by her children on Sunday,
March 24, 2024.
Born on August 9, 1928, in McDonough, Georgia, to Otis and Bertha Price, she was the
youngest of their seven children. She married the love of her life, Harold Loyd Junkins in
June of 1950. They were blessed with two sons, Kenneth (Cindi) of St Cloud, Florida, and
David (Sheri) of Newland, North Carolina. They were wonderful, loving grandparents to
four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Dannie and Bud were very active in their church, leading and teaching Sunday School for
many years. They enjoyed traveling together, time spent with their family, and leave a
legacy of love, laughter and Farkle. Dannie was well known for her home cooking and her
world-famous banana bread recipe. She loved to host guests and parties at her home and
took pride in making everyone feel welcome.
Dannie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her brothers, Rogers, J.P. and
Raybun; and her sister, Mae Price Ward. She is survived by brother, Merrell Price; and sister,
Leola Price Durden and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with family will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at People’s Chapel
Funeral Home, 195 Brooklane Drive, Hueytown, Alabama, 35023. A grave side service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Valhalla Cemetary, 839 Wilkes Road, Birmingham, Alabama, 35228.
