In Memory Of
Gus Julian - Fort Mill, SC

August Joseph Julian, Jr., was born on April 16, 1942, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. He was predeceased in death by his father, August Joseph Julian, Sr., and mother, Gloria Mayberry; and his grandmother, Allie Gardner Mayberry, and grandfather, Joseph Mayberry. “Gus” changed his residence to the Most Holy Place on Saturday, July 11, surrounded by his family in his own home in Sun City, Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Gus is survived by his devoted wife of almost 53 years, Dorie Feenstra Julian; son Brian S. Julian, wife Nicole Smith Julian, and Luke of Stockertown, Pennsylvania; son Deron A. Julian, wife Michelle DiMaio Julian, Tyler, Mia, and Madison of Palmyra, Pennsylvania; daughter Nicole Julian Wolf, husband Matthew D Wolf, Caden, and Carson of Fort Mill, South Carolina; and son Mark R Julian of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

We, the family, will remember him most for being a Dad who always enjoyed his family and meant everything to him. Our large community of friends and wonderful extended family will remember him best for his gift of music and being able to move hearts with his voice. He began singing in church and then in school. He was then lead vocalist for the local band, The Briels. Also during that time, he was called into the Army and there performed for the officer‘s clubs. He then moved into conducting various choirs in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Gus grew up in Port Murray, New Jersey. His time spent at ShopRite in Greenwich, New Jersey, was probably one of the highlights of his career as he met the community and served them with his quick wit and ability to turn someone’s day around with a kind word. He will also be remembered for standing his ground if he believed in something strongly. He was loyal to a fault to those he held dear. His rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” is his legacy and will never sound quite the same without shedding a tear.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Calvary Baptist Church, 5300 Green Pond Road, Easton, PA.
