Jerry C. Kendrick, 86, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, formerly of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, went to his heavenly home on Friday, May 14, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on August 26, 1934, to Carlyle Edward Kendrick and Stella Mae (McDaniel) Kendrick. He attended Cape Central High School, graduating in 1952, and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
Following his discharge, he earned a degree in electrical engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla. After graduation, he began a long, successful career at General Motors, first in Milford, Michilgan, and then in Kokomo, Indiana. Following his retirement he moved back to his hometown of Cape Girardeau, where he remained until 2017.
He married the love of his life, Barbara J. McCrory, on Sept. 13, 1959. They were married for 61 years and raised two grateful children, Michael (Andrea) Kendrick of Wheaton, Illinois, and Pamela (James) Biermann of Fayetteville. Jerry and Barbara were blessed with four grandchildren: Anna (Scott) Scheidt, Alex Biermann, Hope (CJ) Neumaier, and Kelly (Evan) Roascio; and three great-grandchildren: Ruby, Nico, and Della.
