Kim participated in about (10-12) Disaster Relief mission trips sponsored by Samaritan's Purse, as part of teams from New Hope Lutheran Church in Mooresville, North Carolina. Those trips were to New Orleans, Bertie County, North Carolina, Greensboro, North Carolina, Nashville, Tennessee, and Toms River, New Jersey.

Therefore, his wife, Gail, thought that Samaritan's Purse U.S. Disaster Relief would be an apropos recipient of memorials for her husband, Kim. Kim was a giving person, he gave what he had and who he was in Christ to family, friends, and strangers in need!
