Linda Fain Willis of Rogersville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at her home. She was born on July 11, 1943, the middle daughter of the late Olsen and Frances Fain. Linda graduated from Surgoinsville High School in 1961.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Claude “Bud” Willis Jr.; her son, Steven Willis; her sister, Joan Crowe; her in-laws, Claude and Ethel Willis; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Norma Jean Willis, Billy Joe and Mary Willis, John and Madalyn Frazier, Barbara Tedder, and her nephew, Mark Kassem.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Willis, of Knoxville; her sister, Carol Eidson, and husband Joel of Rogersville; her sister-in-law, Ann Kassem, and husband Sam of Kingsport; her brother-in-law, Maynard Tedder, and wife Nancy of Kingsport; as well as several nephews and nieces.
Throughout her life, Linda was devoted to her family. She and Bud built their lives around their children, Laura and Steven, family always remained top priority. The bond shared with her children exemplified the depth and enduring strength of a mother’s heart. So many details are forever preserved through her kindness, attention, and love in which she added to all aspects of her life and those she touched.
Her easy-going but caring personality was a constant in all her friendships and community involvement. Linda worked at Kingsport Press and was active in her community through the Rogersville Society of Doll Collectors, as well as other organizations and clubs. She valued her friends and maintained strong ties, including fond memories of a hike up Mount LeConte with work friends. Her passion for gardening led her to become a Master Gardener, a fitting culmination of her lifelong appreciation of flowers, gardening, and nature.
