Matthew Ball III, 80 years old, passed away at home surrounded by loving family on March 16, 2021, after a strong fight with cancer. Born to Doris Ball and Mathew Ball Jr. in Paterson, NJ, friends and family affectionately knew him as Matt or Sonny. He was married to the love of his life Carolyn Kimble for 46 years. Sonny enjoyed spending time with family, driving his Corvette, and attending car shows. He also enjoyed morning coffee with friends at Burger King.

Matt worked for VanOrden Sand and Gravel in Wayne, NJ, for many years prior to working with McBride Enterprises, Inc. and Urban Farms Landscape & Design before retiring in 2008.

Matt was predeceased by his wife Carolyn in 2007. He was a devoted father of Nancy Mack and her husband David, Donna Bocchiaro and her husband Dave, and Kevin Ball and his wife Christina; loving grandfather of Christopher Mack, Steven Mack, John Beck III, Lauren Beck, Anneke Ball, Aaron Ball, and Alivia Ball; great-grandfather of Layla Beck and Noah Beck; and dear brother of Barbara Mardrus and Sandra Steenstra.

Due to Covid, there will not be any public services. Interment of cremains will be private.
