Ruth Anne Murphy, age 80, joined her Heavenly Father on Dec. 4, 2020. She was the wife of David P. Murphy. They were married on Dec. 5, 1959, and celebrated over 60 years of marriage.

Born in Mishawaka, IN, she was the daughter of James and Ethel Powell, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Mishawaka High School and attended Taylor University.

She will be remembered most for her bright smile and kind heart. She never met a stranger. Her goal in life was to share Jesus with everyone she met.

She is survived by her loving and faithful husband David P. Murphy and daughter Sherri (Todd) Vanderkooy. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Michael Vanderkooy, Angelica (Andrew) Lund, and Tyler (Rebecca) Vanderkooy; her great-grandchildren: Lilly and Liam Lund; her siblings: Jim (Nora) Powell and Rick (Wren) Powell; her in-laws: Eunice (George) Sherwood, John (Pat) Murphy, and Jan Murphy; and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will have a private graveside service at Grandview Cemetery in Maryville, TN, to celebrate her life.
