In Memory Of
Sharon Darlene Meneely Gladhill - Lakeland, FL

Sharon Gladhill, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and educator, danced into her eternal home and garden to join her Lord Jesus on March 28, 2025.

A former resident of Terre Haute, Indiana, Damascus, Maryland, and Lakeland, Florida, Sharon spent her life nurturing others—whether through teaching, dancing, or cultivating her beautiful gardens. She cherished her role as mom, grandma, and teacher.

A dedicated educator, Sharon earned her degree from Indiana State University in 1965 and went on to teach elementary school students in both Montgomery and Frederick County Public Schools. While shaping young minds, she also pursued her own academic growth, earning a master’s degree in education. She was short-listed for the Washington Post's Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award in 1991.

After retiring in 2006, she and Larry moved to Lakeland, Florida, where they embraced their love of choreographed ballroom dancing at the Stardust Dance Center and embarked on travels across the country and around the world. Sharon’s passion for gardening flourished in Florida, and her lush tropical garden became a source of beauty and inspiration to friends and neighbors alike.

In keeping with her generous spirit, Sharon donated her body to science through the United Tissue Network.

A celebration of her life will be held at Victory Church in Lakeland, Florida, on May 2 at 1:00 p.m. The service will be streamed live for those unable to attend at victorylakeland.org.

Sharon’s life was one of faith, love, and devotion to her family and passions. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
