In Memory Of
Sharon K. Ormonde - FRANKLIN, TN

Sharon Kay Ormonde, born on August 7, 1940, in York, Nebraska, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 21, 2025, in Franklin, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry "Nick" Ormonde; her first husband, Douglas Carlton; her son, Douglas A. Carlton; and daughters, Marilyn and Nicolette Ormonde. Sharon is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Terri (Carlton) Bettencourt, Theresa (Ormonde) Stacy, Cindy (Ormonde) Hector, and Christina (Ormonde) Bauchman. She was a cherished grandmother to 15 grandchildren, great-grandmother to 24 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandmother to four.

Family was at the heart of Sharon’s life. Known affectionately as "Grandma O," she and Nick delighted in hosting family gatherings for holidays and celebrating milestones such as birthdays, graduations, weddings, and the births of great-grandbabies. Her love for crafting brought joy to many; she created handmade treasures to sell and give as gifts, often with Nick’s help carving wood items for her projects.

Sharon and Nick shared a love of travel, exploring much of the United States together in their motorhome. One of their most treasured trips was to Nick’s homeland of Terceira Island in the Azores, where Sharon created lasting memories captured in photo albums she proudly shared with her grandchildren.

For over 20 years, Sharon worked at Modesto Junior College (MJC) in the cafeteria. Her warmth and humor left a lasting impression on students who fondly remembered her as “the nice, funny lady” at the register.

In 1995, Sharon came to Christ and embraced her faith wholeheartedly. She found joy in Women’s Bible Study, singing in the choir, and serving in the hospitality ministry.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Sharon’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
