Victoria Renae Hess Partlow passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at her home at the age of 73. She was born in Napoleon, Ohio, on Jan. 8, 1948, to the late Robert and Valeta Hess.
Victoria graduated from Ridgeville High School in 1966 and Kent State University in 1970. She was a special education teacher in New Jersey for nine years before moving to North Carolina. She then was a teacher for exceptional children for 22 years in Guilford County Schools before retiring in 2009 and was recognized as Kernodle Middle School’s Teacher of the Year in 2004.
Victoria was an active member of Jubilee Worship Center and faithfully served on the North Carolina Legislative Prayer Caucus. She was often described as the “hands and feet of Jesus” and loved people incredibly well. She spent much of her retirement on mission trips and prayer assignments across the state, country, and world. She loved spending time with family, laughing with friends, praying, and caring for those in need, and was an avid gardener. She also enjoyed all sorts of adventures with her grandsons including visits to the library, pet stores, science centers, and creek time.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Chad Martin of Boone, North Carolina, and beloved grandsons, Brody and Grant Martin. She is also survived by her sister, Vivian Zepka of Newton, New Jersey, and brother, Russell Hess of Vienna, Ohio, as well as three nieces, two nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Charles L. Partlow.
Victoria’s Celebration of Life service will be held at Calvary Church at 1665 Pleasant Ridge Road in Greensboro, North Carolina, on Saturday, March 27 at 3:00 p.m.
