God is transforming the lives and marriages of military service members through Operation Heal Our Patriots.

Tripp and Katie Butusov came to Alaska burdened by the weight of war and bitterness. He’d seen a dozen combat deployments with the Army. She was a “foul-mouthed” Marine who thought God had forgotten her. Neither felt worthy of forgiveness. Their marriage was in trouble.

But God healed their wounded hearts in Alaska. His forgiveness was a gift with no strings attached.

“The chaplain told us all we had to do was accept it,” said Tripp, who’d been haunted by post-traumatic stress and memories of conflict. The couple found peace last summer as Tripp and Katie received the Lord Jesus Christ and were baptized at Samaritan Lodge Alaska.

The Butusovs joined many others who began new lives in Christ through Operation Heal Our Patriots, starting their walk alongside Him who "is near to the brokenhearted" (Psalm 34:18, ESV).

Help Bring Hope to Military Marriages

When you give to Samaritan’s Purse, you enable us to minister to struggling military couples who need to find restoration in Jesus Christ. Every year, our Operation Heal Our Patriots project welcomes military couples—both active-duty and veterans—to Alaska for Biblically based marriage enrichment and refreshment. In a place of breathtaking beauty, they spend a week focused on God, each other, and the hope and healing only the Lord can provide.

After Alaska, our Family Care Ministry connects couples to local churches, our regional chaplains, fellow Alaska alumni, and to our marriage enrichment opportunities throughout the year.

From Struggling to Serving

Through Team Patriot, couples can deploy to assist U.S. homeowners recovering from floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, and fires.

God Is Transforming Lives for Eternity

Since 2012, we have welcomed more than 2,000 military couples to Samaritan Lodge Alaska where God is bringing hope-filled futures to hurting lives. Marriages and families have been restored, and hundreds of individuals have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
