Volunteer with Samaritan's Purse to be the hands and feet of Jesus to Texas flood survivors.
For residents of Texas Hill Country, the floodwaters are long gone but the road to recovery has only just begun.
In mid-July, over 30 inches of rain caused nearby rivers to overflow into neighborhoods, destroying homes and stranding people across Uvalde and Kerr counties in south Texas. This is the second consecutive year floods have inundated this region.
Weary families aren’t alone as they pick up the pieces left by the floods, however, as Samaritan’s Purse volunteer teams are working throughout the region to help homeowners recover in Jesus’ Name. But more volunteers are needed as our response continues.

Beyond helping clean up debris and remove soiled belongings, Samaritan’s Purse is helping families replace their ruined furniture and flooded cars. We are also providing campers for families who lost everything. We’ve distributed hundreds of grocery gift cards to reeling families as well.
As we work, staff, volunteers, and Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains share the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. We praise God that 81 people have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior in Uvalde County alone since our response began.
“We’re hear spreading God’s Word and coming in Jesus’ Name, seeing what we can do to help get people back into their homes,” said Aaron Richards, the Samaritan’s Purse program manager in Uvalde.
