Water and life are harmonious. Water breathes new life—it enlivens and sustains. When we feel cracked and brittle, the sole thought of water allows hope to crescendo. Water replenishes what was once depleted.

The mountain communities of Trouin, Haiti, are enveloped in thick, green farmlands. The villages of Lebo, Ka Joj, and Polit are vibrant and lush, but—high in the hills—clean, drinkable water is elusive.

The Lord remembers the people who live in each pocket of the world. In Trouin, He remembered His people by bringing Samaritan’s Purse to them. We provided spring catchments, kiosks, and reservoirs. Before, the people of Trouin had to travel long distances across mountainous terrain for water that was often dirty.

Clean water is essential for survival. It renews. Through a spigot releasing clean water for the first time in Trouin, God showed His love for the people who dwell in the crevices of the mountains.

"Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert" (Isaiah 43:19, NKJV).
