Tansen Mission Hospital – Serving the Needy for 60 years


The small town of Tansen is set on a hillside of the Southern Himalayas in central Nepal. Tansen Mission Hospital was started in this remote area as a clinic nearly 60 years ago and now provides inpatient treatment to more than 11,300 people per year.

Thousands of homes were damaged by wind or flooded when Hurricane Isaac swept through Louisiana in late August.

The Village Samaritan


Samaritan's Purse developed the Village Samaritan program to overcome this gap in health care by training community members to recognize the warning signs of illness and provide basic medicine.

WEEK 8, 2012: Six wounded Army heroes and their spouses spent time at Samaritan Lodge Alaska enjoying outdoor activities surrounded by the majestic beauty of the Alaska wilderness. The couples enjoyed a time of relaxation and rejuvenation, while focusing on each other and strengthening their marriages. Finding Faith After the Flood – Eastern TN Flood Relief


On August 5, raging floodwater caused by six inches of rain in just a few hours damaged 173 homes in Johnson City, Tenn. Most of the homeowners did not have flood insurance because their homes were not located in a known floodplain.

Operation Heal Our Patriots


The first group of wounded military personnel and spouses to visit Samaritan Lodge Alaska in June enjoyed fishing, hiking, and the beautiful Alaska scenery. Most of all, they appreciated the opportunity to get away for a week and to spend time with each other.
