Official Contest Rules for The Greatest Journey Discipleship Series Giveaway

By participating in this contest and submitting your comment to enter this contest (the “Contest”), you (“Contestant”) accept and agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

  1. Dates: The Contest runs June 15, 2020 – June 28, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. EDT (“Contest Period”). The Contest Period consists of twelve (12) individual contests, with up to two (2) winners for each individual contest.
  2. Eligibility: The Contest is open only to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years or older. You must comply with all Terms and Conditions. Employees, immediate family members of employees, and directors or contractors of Samaritan’s Purse or the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association are not eligible for prizes.
  3. Submission Requirements:
    1. Samaritan’s Purse will publish twelve (12) videos in the Facebook event “The Greatest Journey Discipleship Series” between June 15 and June 28 (a “Promotional Post”), each an Individual Contest. Contestants must post a comment in response to a Samaritan’s Purse Promotional Post (Contestant’s comment is referred to as a “submitted comment”).
    2. Your submitted comment must respond to the prompt given in each Promotional Post.
    3. You are encouraged to enter multiple submitted comments throughout the Contest Period. Multiple submitted comments per Individual Contest are permitted.
    4. Submitted comments must be posted visible to public.
    5. You must be the sole, original author of your submitted comment.
    6. Changes may not be made to a submitted comment once it has been posted.
    7. Submitted comments must not contain any material that infringes another’s rights, including without limitation material that violates intellectual property rights, including without limitation copyright, privacy, publicity, or other intellectual property rights, or include trademarks, logos, insignia, location signage, photographs, artwork or sculptures, except those owned by Samaritan’s Purse. Submitted comments must not include pictures or depictions of third parties, including without limitation minors, celebrities, and friends who have not expressly authorized Contestant to display their image or likeness in any submitted comment.
    8. Samaritan’s Purse reserves the right to hide or delete any submitted comment for any reason.
  4. Submission Rights: You retain rights to your submitted comments; however, by entering the Contest, you grant Samaritan’s Purse a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the submitted comment, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, in furtherance of Samaritan’s Purse’s non-profit purpose. Samaritan’s Purse is not obligated to provide any design credit, although it may choose to do so. Samaritan’s Purse shall not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with any uses of the entry comments.
  5. Winner Selection:
    1. Submissions will be judged by Samaritan’s Purse.
    2. Up to two (2) winning submitted comments will be selected per individual contest based on creativity of the submitted comment and adherence to Contest submission requirements.
    3. Winning Contestants (“winners”) will be notified by June 30, 2020. Notification will be made by Samaritan’s Purse via a reply to the winner’s submitted comment. The reply will provide further instructions for claiming the Prize.
    4. Samaritan’s Purse reserves the right to disqualify any submission for any reason, and winning submitted comments will be the final decision of Samaritan’s Purse.
  6. Prizes:
    1. Each Prize consists of one of the following, at the sole discretion of Samaritan’s Purse: one (1) Admiral Sam plush toy, one (1) Greatest Journey water bottle, or one (1) Greatest Journey backpack. Shipping costs are included in the Prize.
    2. If no eligible submissions are entered, no Prizes will be awarded. Samaritan’s Purse reserves the right to make a Prize substitution in the event that force majeure events make the Prize impossible or inadvisable in the sole discretion of Samaritan’s Purse. Force majeure as used herein means acts of God, war, government regulations, disaster, strikes, civil disaster, or other events of a similar nature or force.
    3. Winners may not transfer or substitute a Prize except at Samaritan’s Purse’s sole discretion.
    4. Winners are responsible for reporting and paying all applicable federal, state, and local taxes. It is the sole responsibility of winners to provide information to Samaritan’s Purse in order to facilitate receipt of a Prize, including completing and submitting any tax forms when necessary. It is also the sole responsibility of winners to satisfy any applicable reporting requirements.
  7. Verification of Eligibility and Claiming of Prize:
    1. Prize awards are subject to Samaritan’s Purse’s verification of winners’ identity and eligibility.
    2. To receive a Prize, winners must comply with instructions provided by Samaritan’s Purse in the comment notifying the winner of their selection. Winners will be asked to send Samaritan’s Purse a confirmation email with their mailing address in order to receive the Prize by mail. If the confirmation email is not received by Samaritan’s Purse within five (5) calendar days of Samaritan’s Purse’s winner notification post, the Prize is forfeited. Do not include any address or personal information in your social media comments.
    3. In the event of a disqualification, Samaritan’s Purse, at its sole discretion, may award the Prize to an alternate Contestant.

  9. Release:
    1. BY ENTERING A SUBMISSION, YOU RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND HOLD HARMLESS SAMARITAN’S PURSE, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL ACTIONS, CLAIMS, EXPENSES, AND LIABILITIES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST OR ANY USE OF A SUBMISSION AS AUTHORIZED BY THESE OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES.
    2. BY ENTERING A SUBMISSION, YOU RELEASE, DISCHARGE, AND HOLD HARMLESS FACEBOOK FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL ACTIONS, CLAIMS, EXPENSES, AND LIABILITIES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE CONTEST.
  10. Publicity: You authorize Samaritan’s Purse to use your name, social media handle, likeness, and submitted comments in any media or promotional material worldwide concerning the Contest without further compensation or consideration.
  11. General Conditions:
    1. This Contest is void where prohibited.
    2. Information collected from you will be subject to Samaritan’s Purse’s privacy policy.
    3. By entering the Contest, you give Samaritan’s Purse permission to contact you regarding subject matter related to the Contest as well as the ministry work of Samaritan’s Purse.
    4. Samaritan’s Purse is vested with sole authority to interpret and apply the Official Contest Rules.
    5. Samaritan’s Purse reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions of the Official Contest Rules at any time and will post any amendments on the contest landing page.
